The price list of the upcoming Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara has been leaked ahead of its launch in India as per media reports. As speculated earlier, the upcoming Grand Vitara will start from INR 9.50 Lakh onwards (ex-showroom) in the Indian market. Maruti Suzuki will offer five mild hybrid variants and two strong hybrid trims of the Grand Vitara in both manual and automatic options.The prices of the mild hybrid trim start at INR 9.5 Lakh for the base Sigma variant and go up to INR 15.50 Lakh for the Alpha AWD variant. Similarly, the strong hybrid trim gets two variants - Zeta Plus (INR 17 Lakh) and Alpha Plus (INR 18 Lakh).These leaked prices easily undercut the segment leader, Hyundai Creta, and other rivals such as the Kia Seltos, Volkswagen Taigun, and the Skoda Kushaq. For instance, the Hyundai Creta starts at INR 10.44 Lakh in India.The new Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara will be available with two engine options: a 101 hp, 137 Nm, 1.5L petrol with mild hybrid technology and a 92 hp, 122 Nm, 1.5L TNGA Atkinson cycle petrol with strong hybrid technology, both sourced from Toyota. The latter comes paired with an electric motor that produces 79 hp and 141 Nm of torque resulting in a total power output of 115 hp. The available transmissions include a 6-speed torque converter and a 5-speed manual. Maruti Suzuki claims a mileage of 27.97 km/l on the Strong Hybrid variant.Suzuki's AllGrip AWD tech will also be an option for the mild hybrid vehicle. The AllGrip Select offers the driver four modes to choose from – Auto, Sport, Snow and Lock – and the system is controlled electronically via a push-and-turn dial on the dashboard.
